Wild Horses are considered a symbol of America's independance and pioneer spirit worldwide. Yet in spite of protests across America and the world the BLM continues massive roundups that threaten the gene pool of the herds. Is this still a country made by the people for the people or is now just one more country where the rich take what they please no matter how many people object? Why isn't there enough water or land or grazing? Because it's blocked off for private companies to mine, to export the water and sell it or cattle who outnumber horses by the thousands.
Horses gallop through childhood dreams. And in a way, even the poorest american child owns a horse. Because the Mustang belongs to us all. And we can dream that one day we will meet one, even adopt one. But if the roundups aren't stopped-they really will fade away forever. Just like a dream that fades with morning light. Don't forget to sign the petitions: and keep signing. Remind the government: these horses belong to us!
